Martin D. Herman, MD

Dr. Herman attended Northwestern University Medical School. His Neurology residency was at the University of Virginia. He completed additional fellowship training in electroencephalography and epilepsy at the Neurological Institute, Columbia University Medical School. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and also in electroencephalography by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. He is an Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Drexel University Medical School. He was formerly the founding Chief of Neurology and Director of the Electroencephalography Laboratory at Mounmouth Medical Center (1974 to 2011), where he was awarded the Pinnacle Award for outstanding service in 2005. He is director of the epilepsy monitoring unit at Riverview Medical Center.

In addition to his general neurology practice, his chief interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and stroke. Dr. Herman's awards have included selection to The Best Doctors in America: Northeast Region and The Best Doctors in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Chris P. Anayiotos, MD

Dr. Anayiotos attended medical school at the National University of Greece in Athens. His neurology residency was at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York where he completed additional fellowship training in Neuromuscular diseases and electromyography. He has been in practice with our group since 1977. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and also in electromyography by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is clinical assistant professor of neurology at Drexel University College of medicine. Dr. Anayiotos, is interested in the diagnosis of pain, and believes that pain is not a disease, but a symptom that should be evaluated by a neurologist in order to make a precise diagnosis. In addition to his general neurology practice, he has a special interest in neuromuscular disorders, including muscle disease, myasthenia gravis, neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and electromyography.

Paul Gennaro, MD

Dr. Gennaro attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and continued at the University for his residency in neurology.

He has been in practice with our group since 1983.

He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to his general neurology practice, he has special interest in spinal nerve blocks for pain and sleep disorders. He reads polysomnograms at Riverview Medical Center and Comfort Sleep .

Noah R. Gilson, MD

Dr Gilson attended Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago. His neurology residency was at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

He has been in practice with our group since 1986. He is board certified in neurology and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is section chief of neurology and medial director of the stroke program at Riverview Medical Center.

In addition to his general neurology practice, he evaluates children for learning disabilities for several school systems. He also sees children age 5 and above for a variety of disorders including headache and ADHD.

Dr. Gilson also has been named named a 'top doc' in the New York metropolitan area by Castle Connelly and the New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

He also has a love for photography and his partners have graciously allowed him to adorn all available wall space in the office with his pictures.

F. Bernard Ponce, MD

Dr Ponce attended medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. His neurology residency was at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

He completed additional fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

He has been with our group since 1999. He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to his general neurology practice, he has a special interest in Botox (Botulinum Toxin) injections for focal dystonia and chronic daily headache.

Neil R. Holland, MD, FAAN

Dr. Holland attended medical school at University College London in England. His neurology residency was at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where he also completed additional fellowship training in neuromuscular diseases and electromyography. He is board certified in neurology, neuromuscular medicine and clinical neurophysiology and vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also board certified in electromyography by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

He has been listed as a top doc in the New York Metropolitan area by Castle Connelly as well as by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

He is Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is Neurology Clerkship Director for forth year Drexel medical students at Monmouth Medical Center.

He is Chief of Neurology and Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Monmouth Medical Center. He is also Medical Director of the Central Jersey Muscular Dystrophy Clinic, and a member MDA’s national medical advisory committee.

He is a Fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.

In addition to his general neurology practice, he has a special interest in neuromuscular disorders, including muscle disease, myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, nerve injuries and electromyography.

Joshua T. Mendelson, MD

Dr. Mendelson is a graduate of Emory University and attended medical school at St. George’s University. His neurology residency was at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where he was awarded the 2006-7 Neurology Residents’ Appreciation Award by the teaching faculty. He later went on to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Emory University with a special concentration on the medical and surgical management of epilepsy.

Dr. Mendelson is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

He is medical director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Monmouth Medical Center. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine.

He has special interests in the treatment of epilepsy during pregnancy and children with febrile seizures, and has authored book chapters on these subjects. He had extensive training at the Thomas Jefferson University Comprehensive Headache Center in the treatment of migraine and chronic daily headache.
